Meet Cynthia D'Amour

(For those of you who prefer, there is a short professional bio below.)

My name is Cynthia D’Amour.

  • I was born into a third-generation, volunteer-leader family.
  • I started volunteering as soon as I could walk.
  • My dad was president of every organization he joined.

Helping associations get more members involved was a way of life from early on.

  • I did my first leadership training when I was a senior in high school.
  • I had no problem getting others involved.
  • Friends demanded I share my secrets.

It was the beginning of a career I didn’t realize I would have!

Fast forward beyond hundreds of associations and thousands of volunteer leaders, I’m still teaching the same kind of magic.

I find most volunteer leaders work too hard.

  • They are usually good people.
  • Who simply need to reframe what being a leader means.
  • And add a few skills to their bag.

(Yes, it can be that easy.)

I’ve always believed chapters play an important role in the beautiful fabric of our society.

  • When local chapter leaders are able to involve many, they create more capacity to move their mission forward.
  • They also raise up their community in general.
  • Connected people do good things together – and live longer.

I believe I’m changing the world for the better one chapter leader at a time.

It’s an honor to do.

Chapters matter!
